Education and specialty training

Prof. Dr. Haldun Oğuz graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and completed his specialty training in Otorhinolaryngology at S.B. Ankara Training and Research Hospital. He was an observer at the Institute of Laryngology and Voice Restoration, Harvard University School of Medicine.

Academic and faculty positions

He worked as a faculty member in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Near East University Faculty of Medicine and at High Specialisation University Faculty of Medicine. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2007 and the title of Professor in 2013. Prof. Oğuz is currently a faculty member of Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Otorhinolaryngology.

Professional associations and roles

Prof. Oğuz is affiliated with two international professional bodies, the Union of European Phoniatricians and the Professional Voice Association, and has held the following roles:

  • Secretary General, Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Association (2010–2014)
  • President and Vice President, School of Laryngology and Phoniatrics (2012–2020)
  • Vice President, European Academy of Phoniatrics (2018–2023)

Publications and editorial work

He has published more than 250 articles and papers in international and national books, journals and conferences; his work has been cited more than 1,000 times in international journals. He is the editor of the book Clinical Voice Disorders and has served in editorial roles for several journals, including as an advisory board member, referee and English‑language editor.
