Prof. Oğuz graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and trained in Otorhinolaryngology at Ankara Training and Research Hospital, with an observership at the Institute of Laryngology and Voice Restoration, Harvard Medical School. He became a Professor in 2013 and is on the faculty of Lokman Hekim University. He has published more than 250 papers, cited over 1,000 times, and is the editor of the book Clinical Voice Disorders.
